Card Badges in Blogger: Sponsored, New, Editor's Pick and More

Add Sponsored, New, Editor's Pick and other badges to post cards in Blogger using labels. A premium feature of the Areeb theme.

  • Some posts deserve a second look: a paid review, a fresh article, your best guide. The Areeb theme can put a small badge on the corner of any post card, like the Trending one. You add it with a single label; no code, no settings.

Add a badge to a post

    1. Open the postIn Blogger, open the post in the editor.
    2. Add the labelIn the right panel, open Labels and type the badge label, for example sponsored. Keep your normal category label too.
    3. UpdateClick Update (or Publish). The badge appears on the post card on the home page, label pages and search.

Labels are lowercase and exact: pick works, Pick or editors pick doesn't.

    Badge labels stay hidden

Badge labels are not categories. The theme hides them everywhere readers see labels: the card category line, the label filter bar, the breadcrumb, related posts and saved posts. So sponsored never shows up as a topic, and the post's real category stays first.

Always give the post a normal category label as well. A post with only badge labels has no category, so it shows no category line and no related posts.

    More than one badge

A post can carry several badges, for example new and video. They sit side by side on the card. Keep it to one, two at most: the card image is small, and a single badge reads best.

    Light and dark mode

The badge takes the colour of the card, the same way as Trending, so it fits both modes without any setup. Only the icon is coloured.

    Sponsored posts: be clear

If someone paid for a post or sent you a product, readers should know before they click. The Sponsored badge does that on the card. Also:

    • Say it again at the top of the post, for example with a note:
This post is sponsored by …
.
    • Add rel="sponsored" to paid links, so Google knows they are paid.
    Visit the sponsor

    Remove a badge

Open the post, delete the badge label in Labels, and click Update. The badge disappears from the card.
